The Piedmont Park Tennis Family Remembers Sharon

ATLANTA -- It is with a heavy heart and enormous sorrow that we have learned of the loss of one of our beloved colleagues and member of our DPRCA family.

Sharon passed away most unexpectedly Saturday afternoon of natural causes. She was
not feeling well on Friday and we have not learned specifics at this point.

We have arranged for grief counseling at Piedmont Park Tennis Center at noon on Sunday and at noon on Monday at CHE. This is a profound shock to all of us and I urge you to take advantage of this counseling. Sharon leaves behind her beloved son Chris and sister Barbara. Please keep them in your prayers. Funeral arrangements are pending but we will alert you as
soon as we know.

What is the Future of Piedmont Park?

What is the Future of Piedmont Park? Your ideas are needed. Members of the Piedmont Tennis Association serve on the Piedmont Park Advisory Board. Piedmont Park will soon have a 70 to 100 million dollar face lift to prepare for a predicted doubling of park recreation in the near future. The PTA and the PPAB are calling for Input from everyone- that is you!

	Tennis is one of the oldest sports played in Piedmont Park. In 1913, seven clay courts were built where the 1895 Cotton States and International Exposition’s Manufacturers and Liberal Arts Building once stood. Tennis proved so popular that eight additional courts were added in 1914.

Piedmont Tennis Association began 40 years ago at historic Piedmont Park Tennis Center in Midtown Atlanta.

The Piedmont Tennis Association is an organized non-profit dedicated to improving tennis at Piedmont Park and building better tennis around downtown Atlanta. We are built and supported by USTA.

We are building a membership and volunteer base and encourage you to join and get involved. You can serve on one of these committees-

Youth Committee
Facilities Committee
Growth Committee
Communications Committee
Programming and Tournaments Committee
Cross Training Committee

or you may suggest a new committee.
